Lugols 2.2% Iodine Solutions

What Makes Risingsun Lugols Iodine Solutions so Unique and Superior:  Risingsun Iodine Products Corp is the only FDA registered iodine supplement manufacturer that produces the Lugols solutions in 1%, 2.2% and 5% elemental iodine strength.

Iodine is non-allergenic, so people do not have allergies to iodine.  People do have a sensitivity to the elemental iodine concentration (Lugols 1% VERSUS Lugols 2.2% VERSUS Lugols 5% or higher than 5% Solutions).  Elemental iodine is what makes iodine solutions have a red color.  Symptoms of iodine sensitivity are a rash, itching or nausea(upset stomach) when taken internally, these symptoms usually are experienced when using Lugols solutions that have over 2.2% of elemental iodine.

Risingsun's Lugols 1% iodine solution is available in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 25mg per drop potency.  Risingsun Iodine Products Corp is the only iodine manufacturer that offers such a range of Lugols Solutions. In a simplistic explanation; Lugols 1% Solution 6mg and Lugols 2.2% Solution 6mg have as much iodine as any Lugols 5% Iodine Solution available. The only difference is the percent of elemental iodine is reduced from 5% to 2.2% and 1%. Risingsun's Lugols 1% or 2.2% Iodine Solution 12 mg, has as much iodine as Lugols 10% except with lower percentage(10% to 1% or 2.2%) of elemental iodine but using potassium iodide to raise the iodine levels to reach 12mg of iodine per drop. Risingsun's Lugols 1% or 2.2% Iodine Solution 25 mg, has as much iodine as Lugols 20% except with lower percentage(20% to 1% or 2.2%) of elemental iodine but using potassium iodide to raise the iodine levels to reach 25mg per drop of iodine.

Not all Iodine Supplements are alike:

Non-Allergenic Ingredients: Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) since it occurs naturally in the body and is actually necessary for thyroid function. However, some medications, solutions, or concentrations that contain iodine may cause a person to have an allergic reaction.

The sources of iodine utilized in iodine supplements are not the same. Sources for iodine used iodine supplements can be from Shellfish, Kelp and brine. People have allergies to shellfish, so this source poses a health hazard. Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) iodine is essential for thyroid and hormonal functions in the body. Shellfish allergy is sometimes confused with iodine allergy because shellfish is known to contain the element iodine. But iodine is not what triggers the reaction in people who are allergic to shellfish. Although sea kelp is safe to eat in plant form, taking sea kelp supplements can be dangerous. Kelp contains concentrated doses of heavy metals that occur naturally in kelp, but can be toxic to humans in supplement form. Kelp purifies the oceans and extracts and absorbs heavy metals from the ocean. The best source for iodine is from brine mining, iodine produced naturally in the form of iodide which is then combined with potassium. Risingsun only uses brine mined potassium iodide.  Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. Brines are a major source of iodine supply worldwide. Major deposits occur in Japan and the United States. Iodide is recovered from deep brines pumped to the surface as a byproduct of oil and natural gas production. Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. It differs from solution mining or in-situ leaching in that those methods inject water or chemicals to dissolve materials which are in a solid state; in brine mining, the materials are already dissolved.Around 500 BC, the ancient Chinese dug hundreds of brine wells, so brine mining has been used used for about 2567 years, give or take a few years
