Product Overview

Risingsun's Lugols 2.2% Iodine-Iodide 6mg solution does not exceed the DEA Regulation of Iodine Crystals and Chemical Mixtures Containing Over 2.2 Percent Iodine (see 21 CFR Parts 1309 and 1310).

Risingsun's Lugols 2.2% iodine-iodide 6mg solution contains 2.2% iodine and over 10% potassium iodide which provides 6mg of iodine per drop. The elemental iodine used in Risingsun's iodine solutions is processed from potassium iodide that is extracted from ancient underground brine mines located in Japan and the United States. Iodide brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements, compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. Risingsun manufacturers over 20 different concentrations and iodine supplement solutions, the largest selection available.

Structure Function Statement:  Supports Thyroid - Hormone - Metabolism - Immunity  and Nerve Health. The function of the thyroid gland is to take iodine, found in many foods, and convert it into thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroid cells are the only cells in the body which can absorb iodine.  Low iodine levels slow your metabolism and encourage food to be stored as fat, rather than be burned as energy. Thyroid hormones play an important role in a wide range of bodily functions, including metabolism, bone healthimmune response, and development of the central nervous system (CNS).

Read; Warning - Not all iodine supplements are alike at the bottom of this description.

Manufactured in the United States by: Risingsun Iodine Products an FDA inspected and GMP certified iodine supplement manufacturing facility located in Livingston, Montana USA. (FDA FFR registration No. 18101635346) (EPA, NAICS and SIC registered and listed) (State Montana Registration No. Pending)

Serving Size: Liter (1000ml)

Ingredients: Distilled water, potassium iodide and iodine.

Dosage: 1 to 2 drops added to (4-6 oz) drink or as directed by your health care practitioner. add a couple drops of lemon or lime juice to improve taste or 1/4 teaspoon of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) powder.

Non-Allergenic Ingredients: Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) since it occurs naturally in the body and is actually necessary for thyroid function. However, some medications, solutions, or concentrations that contain iodine may cause a person to have an allergic reaction. Risingsun iodine solutions contain iodine, potassium iodide and distilled water.

What Makes Risingsun Lugols Iodine Solutions so Unique and Superior: As mentioned above, iodine is non-allergenic, so people do not have allergies to iodine.  People do have a sensitivity to the percent (Lugols 1% VERSUS Lugols 2.2% VERSUS Lugols 5% or higher than 5% Solutions) of elemental iodine concentrations; elemental iodine is what makes the iodine solutions red.  Symptoms of iodine sensitivity are a rash, itching or nausea(upset stomach) when taken internally, these symptoms usually are experienced when using Lugols solutions that have over 2.2% of elemental iodine.  Risingsun's Lugols 1% and 2.2% iodine solutions are available in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 25mg per drop concentrations.  Risingsun Iodine Products Corp is the only iodine manufacturer that offers such a range of Lugols Solutions. In a simplistic explanation; Lugols 1% Solution 6mg and Lugols 2.2% Solution 6mg have as much iodine as any Lugols 5% Iodine Solution available. The only difference is the percent of elemental iodine is reduced from 5% to 2.2% and 1%. Risingsun's Lugols 1% or 2.2% Iodine Solution 12 mg, has as much iodine as Lugols 10% except with lower percentage(10% to 1% or 2.2%) of elemental iodine but using potassium iodide to raise the iodine levels to reach 12mg of iodine per drop. Risingsun's Lugols 1% or 2.2% Iodine Solution 25 mg, has as much iodine as Lugols 20% except with lower percentage(20% to 1% or 2.2%) of elemental iodine but using potassium iodide to raise the iodine levels to reach 25mg per drop of iodine.

Heavy Metals tested for: Arsenic (As), Barium (Ba), Beryllium (Be), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), Selenium (Se), Silver (Ag). Heavy metals are now being found in USDA certified foods, vitamins, superfoods, herbs and dietary supplements at disturbing high levels. Neither the USDA nor the FDA have addressed this seriously growing issue by setting standards as to what limits are acceptable. Risingsun has addressed this deficiency by setting specifications standards for heavy metals at less than 1ppm (less than 0.0001%).  Risingsun's heavy metal specifications are the most stringent than any company manufacturing or distributing iodine supplements nationally or internationally. Other iodine supplement manufactures set specifications standards for heavy metals at 5ppm (0.0005%). So how concerned are you about heavy metal contamination in your body, the health risk is alarming.

To Make an Iodine Supplement Spray: Fill 4 oz.(120ml) container with distilled water; ADD 1 to 6 maximum drops of Risingsun Lugol's 2.2% iodine-Iodide 6mg solution for desired ppm (parts per million). OPTIONAL: ADD 1 teaspoon lemon juice (a natural surfactant), then affix closure and shake to mix. Additional lemon juice can be added. To make a sanitizer mix 2 oz distilled water with 2 oz 100 proof vodka; then add iodine solution. Or: add the iodine to 4oz of vodka only with no distilled water.

COA (Certificate of Analysis): COA's are available on request. COA's are required to be performed on every supplement by the FDA to ensure it meets CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations. CGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the FDA. CGMPs provide for systems that assure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. Adherence to the CGMPs regulations assures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of dietary supplement products by requiring that manufacturers of medications adequately control manufacturing operations.

Unique Product Packaging: Risingsun takes pride in the iodine supplements it produces, and the packaging clearly shows that. Instead of inserting the dropper in the bottled iodine solution a black phenolic cap(lid) with a cone liner is affixed to the bottle to eliminate the iodine solution from evaporating; then a shrink band is applied to the cap(lid). The dropper and sealed bottle of iodine solution are inserted into a bubble bag then placed in a product box; shrink bands are then applied over the box. --- When droppers are placed in iodine solutions (red solutions), the iodine vapor stains anything that is stored next to the iodine solution and the vapor also hardens the dropper bulb so iodine can not be drawn into the dropper. Those that use lugols iodine or similar supplements have experienced these issues.

Not all Iodine Supplements are alike: The sources of iodine utilized in iodine supplements are not the same. Sources for iodine used iodine supplements can be from Shellfish, Kelp and brine. People have allergies to shellfish, so this source poses a health hazard. Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) iodine is essential for thyroid and hormonal functions in the body. Shellfish allergy is sometimes confused with iodine allergy because shellfish is known to contain the element iodine. But iodine is not what triggers the reaction in people who are allergic to shellfish. Although sea kelp is safe to eat in plant form, taking sea kelp supplements can be dangerous. Kelp contains concentrated doses of heavy metals that occur naturally in kelp, but can be toxic to humans in supplement form. Kelp purifies the oceans and extracts and absorbs heavy metals from the ocean. The best source for iodine is from brine mining, iodine produced naturally in the form of iodide which is then combined with potassium. Risingsun only uses brine mined potassium iodide.  Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. Brines are a major source of iodine supply worldwide. Major deposits occur in Japan and the United States. Iodide is recovered from deep brines pumped to the surface as a byproduct of oil and natural gas production. Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. It differs from solution mining or in-situ leaching in that those methods inject water or chemicals to dissolve materials which are in a solid state; in brine mining, the materials are already dissolved.Around 500 BC, the ancient Chinese dug hundreds of brine wells, so brine mining has been used used for about 2567 years, give or take a few years
